A National Firm who empowers our team to provide innovative solutions resulting in enduring relationships.
APD Engineering & Architecture was founded in 1996, in Rochester, NY, by Steve Cleason, PE. Initially, the firm provided civil engineering services, developing partnerships with National retail clients.
As the company grew, services were added to meet client requests that APD expand their offerings to provide the same high level of responsiveness and low cost that their civil services provided. This included adding architectural services in 2003; which quickly grew to become a major component of the firm. These services are now provided to a broad range of national clients, such as ALDI, Inc. and Monro Muffler Brake, where APD is the National Prototype Architect.
Inevitable expansion led to the relocation of the office in 2007 and the opening of a West Coast (California) office in late 2015. This west-ward expansion enabled APD to grow alongside their West Coast clients and to effectively provide them with the services they require. MEP services were added in 2017. With offices on both coasts, and Architects and Engineers licensed in roughly 75% of the United States, APD became well equipped to provide clients with personalized, local assistance, and onsite support for projects.
Steve Cleason retired in 2015 and left the company in the hands of the remaining owners to manage. Thanks to the foundation that Steve laid for the building of stable, trusting relationships with our clients, APD continues to provide design services to the clients that started with the firm in 1996.
