A Message from Leadership
Over the past 30 years, APD has experienced meaningful growth in the clients we serve, the projects we deliver, and the team that makes it all possible. Building on that momentum, we are proud to share that we have officially relocated to our new office at 290 Woodcliff Drive, Suite 3, in Fairport, New York. Spanning approximately 30,000 square feet and filled with natural light, this new space creates an open, energizing environment for both our team and the clients we serve.
This move represents far more than a change in address. It reflects our continued investment in the future of APD and our commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. The space was intentionally designed to foster stronger collaboration, support more dynamic client interactions, and enhance the way we deliver projects from concept through completion.
For our clients, this investment translates into greater accessibility, improved coordination, and an environment that reflects the level of service and professionalism you can expect from APD. Whether we are hosting planning sessions, reviewing project details, or welcoming you into our office, this space allows us to work more effectively and collaboratively together.
We are excited about what this next chapter represents and grateful for the continued trust of our clients and partners. We look forward to welcoming you into our new space soon.
Sincerely,
CEO & President, APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC

APD Partners with O’Reilly Auto Parts on National Expansion Efforts
APD’s multidisciplinary teams are supporting more than 20 projects across multiple states through coordinated design and permitting solutions.
APD Engineering & Architecture is proud to support O’Reilly Auto Parts as the company continues its nationwide expansion across rapidly growing markets throughout the United States. Since 2024, APD has partnered with O’Reilly to provide comprehensive Architecture, Civil, Structural, MEP, and Permitting services for more than 20 projects spanning Idaho, Maryland, North Carolina, New York, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
With more than 225 new store openings planned by the end of 2026, O’Reilly’s rapid expansion requires seamless coordination across varying jurisdictions, municipalities, and site conditions. APD’s integrated team of Architects, Engineers, and Permitters collaborates closely with O’Reilly to help projects move efficiently from early site adaptation through permitting and construction coordination.
These locations utilize pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) systems, requiring a highly collaborative design process that balances efficiency, constructability, and brand consistency while adapting to local municipal and jurisdictional requirements.
APD’s multidisciplinary teams coordinate closely throughout the process to streamline communication, proactively identify challenges, and support efficient project execution across every phase of development.
One project currently under construction is O’Reilly’s new location in Iowa Colony, Texas, within the Sierra Vista Shopping Center development at the intersection of Meridiana Parkway and Crystal View Drive. The project reflects the type of fast-paced, multi-disciplinary coordination required to successfully deliver retail developments in rapidly expanding communities.
As O’Reilly’s continues to grow its nationwide footprint, APD remains committed to delivering coordinated, responsive solutions that support efficient project execution across a wide range of communities and jurisdictions. APD looks forward to sharing future updates and completed project photography as these new locations continue taking shape across the country.

APD was proud to attend BuildPoint 2026, connecting with industry leaders, clients, and partners from across the country. This event provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships, explore new opportunities, and stay aligned with the evolving needs of the retail and quick-service sectors.
A highlight of the event was APD’s boardroom session, where we hosted an interactive APD Trivia experience designed to engage attendees while showcasing our team’s depth of knowledge. The session covered key topics, including Prototype Development, offering real-world insights into the challenges and solutions that shape successful multi-site programs. The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the session as engaging, interactive, and a refreshing approach to sharing industry expertise.
BuildPoint continues to be an important platform for collaboration and connection, and we are grateful for the opportunity to engage with both new and familiar partners as we carry those conversations forward into future industry events.
Top 5 Questions Our Structural Team Hears Most, and Why They Matter
Structural engineering plays a critical role in balancing design intent, constructability, and long-term performance. Whether adapting an existing building or supporting a national rollout, clients want to understand how structural decisions impact schedule, cost, and coordination. Below are five of the most common questions our structural engineering team is asked.
1. How do you evaluate whether an existing building can support a new tenant or prototype?
We evaluate each building based on its existing structural conditions, including prior modifications, loading capacity, and building age, to determine what can be reused and what may require reinforcement.
Our team reviews available documentation, assesses field conditions, and coordinates with Architecture and MEP teams early to identify structural impacts and minimize surprises during the project.
2. How do structural decisions impact construction costs and scheduling?
Structural decisions can directly impact construction costs, sequencing, and material lead times. Early coordination helps avoid unexpected field modifications and construction delays.
Our team collaborates closely with all disciplines early in design to develop efficient solutions that balance structural performance, constructability, and project timelines.
3. What structural challenges are most common during tenant fit-outs or remodels?
Common structural challenges during tenant fit-outs and remodels include removing walls, adding rooftop equipment, modifying storefronts, and reconfiguring layouts that impact the building’s structural system. Existing conditions also often differ from original drawings.
Our team identifies potential issues early, coordinates closely with contractors and design teams, and develops practical solutions that support both project goals and construction timelines.
