Ken believes thoughtful engineering begins with understanding the whole system before solving any one part of it. Rather than approaching MEP design in isolation, he first studies the building, site conditions, and operational goals to develop solutions that support long-term performance. Driven by a mindset of continuous improvement, Ken is always looking for opportunities to refine systems, simplify complexity, and deliver practical solutions that create lasting value.
Since joining APD in 2022, Ken has applied his multidisciplinary background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, controls, electrical systems, testing, and code compliance across projects spanning nearly every market APD serves. His experience ranges from national prototype programs to complex custom facilities, where his expertise in integrated building systems, code interpretation, and regulatory compliance translates complex technical requirements into clear, constructible solutions.
As Associate Principal of MEP Engineering, Ken believes leadership is most effective when guided by clear direction, transparent decision-making, and a culture of trust. By empowering people to take ownership of their work and fostering a culture rooted in good faith, he cultivates an environment where accountability, collaboration, and mutual respect thrive.
Outside of work, he enjoys walking along the Erie Canal with his wife, daughter, and dogs, as well as reading and spending time playing video and board games.
Bachelor’s Degree, Washington State University, 2014
Licensed Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) in 41 States
Kenneth’s favorite project was for Sabin Metal. The project requirements included environmental considerations and specifying the permissible humidity level in a process production room.
