Zaxbys

As Zaxbys continues to expand into new and existing markets, each location presents a different set of conditions. Some begin with an undeveloped site and a prototype. Others require an existing building to be reworked around the needs of the brand. Since 2021, APD has partnered with Zaxbys across multiple states, providing integrated Architecture, Civil, Structural, MEP, and Permitting services for new builds, remodels, retrofits, and prototype-driven rollouts.

That partnership can be seen in Vincennes, Indiana, where an existing Steak ’n Shake was converted into a 56-seat Zaxbys. APD worked closely with the Zaxbys Design Review team to adapt the building while preserving the identity and experience of the brand. The conversion required structural modifications for new exterior elements, along with coordinated architectural and MEP updates throughout the restaurant.

The Vincennes restaurant is one of 90 projects APD has supported through its partnership with Zaxbys. Across those projects, APD’s role remains consistent: understand the intent behind the prototype, respond to the realities of each property, and bring every discipline together to help move each location from concept to opening.
