Our partnership with ALDI spans three decades, supporting one of the nation’s most recognizable grocery brands through prototype development, rollout execution, new store design, remodels, retrofits, and adaptive reuse projects. Since being named the ALDI National Prototype Architect in 2008, we have worked closely with the ALDI National Real Estate team to help refine prototype buildings, study operational improvements, and support coordinated delivery across markets.
That partnership has also expanded into one of ALDI’s largest recent growth initiatives. Since 2024, we have supported the conversion of 90 former Southeastern Grocers locations across Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. These projects have required coordinated Architecture, Structural, MEP, Permitting, and LiDAR services to adapt existing grocery stores to the ALDI prototype while responding to unique building conditions, local requirements, and aggressive schedules.
From ground-up stores like Irondequoit, NY and Deerfield Beach, FL to adaptive reuse projects and milestone openings like Portland, ME, APD’s Architecture, Structural, MEP, Civil, Permitting, and LiDAR teams help align prototype standards with real site conditions. Our role is rooted in consistency, responsiveness, and coordination, helping ALDI move projects from concept through construction while maintaining the efficiency and brand standards needed for national growth.
