APD seeks a Registered Architect to work on nationally based commercial/retail projects. The candidate must have experience with construction documents, specifications, permitting, and construction administration.

This position requires a candidate with excellent, proactive problem-solving skills and strong communication skills with clients, consultants, municipalities, and co-workers. Candidates should have a can-do attitude and the ability to multitask. Assignments require the experience and knowledge to assist the project team in satisfying the client and facilitating the project’s construction

Responsibilities

• Mentorship and training of junior architectural staff.
• Assist design and production teams, including sub-consultants, for commercial/retail and other project types.
• Develop and coordinate specifications for construction drawings.
• Review changes to construction products and recommend specifications.
• Respond to RFPs, generate proposals, and develop design contracts.
• Assist in finding optimal solutions and generating construction change directives.
• Coordinate submittal of construction documents for governmental review, and respond to permit review comments.
• Assist staff in reviewing projects for Quality Assurance.
• Possible travel (<10%).
